ANNOUNCEMENT
At the Guardians meeting held on the 29th September 2010, the following decision was ratified.:-
Calderdale LINk will delay the 2010 AGM, and will revisit this decision in January 2011, when an announcement will be made regarding an event to celebrate the work of Calderdale LINk
The reasons for this decision are:-
There is no legal requirement for LINK to hold an AGM. Given the current climate relating to the transformation of LINKs into Healthwatch, when new governance will be put in place for all LINks, it is important that we know more about the shape of the future and the nature of the transformation for LINks.
During this time of transition from LINk to Healthwatch, a period of stability is needed in order to progress the transition effectively. It is felt that this transition will be better served with the current Steering Group Members remaining in office during this time, to facilitate this process.
We have recently held a number of public consultations relating to the Government White Paper, along with four other public events which took place throughout October. This has meant that the resources of the support team, in terms of time and capacity are currently at their maximum.
