Enter and View

All LINks are are able to send volunteers to visit certain health and adult social care services to see how they are run. This is called ‘Enter and View’ and Calderdale LINk has been very active on this issue and has recruited and trained many authorised Enter and View representatives, or visitors to accomplish this.  (even though authorised representatives is the title in legislation it can be counter productive to be too formal, so it can be better in person, to refer to yourself as a ‘Visitor’).    The current list of enter and view visitors is below.

Calderdale LINk does not use enter and view as a tool to criticise Health and Adult Social Care Services, but as a chance to help services improve and meet the needs of their users.

Enter and View visitors have to be recruited, trained and have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check before carrying out a visit on behalf of Calderdale LINk.

If you wish to become an Authorised Representative we are currently seeking volunteers to do this and details of recruitment can be found below in the question section, or if you have any queries or concerns about any aspect of Enter and View then please do not hesitate to contact  the Calderdale LINk Support Team. Details of our address, email and telephone numbers, including a freephone number, are available by navigating to the ‘Contact us’ section on the heading bar above.

Current trained and Authorised Representatives for Calderdale LINk are as follows ;

Anne Frearson

Adrian Crawley

Rob Ward

Anthony Wilkinson

  • What happens when I apply?
    People are selected by a recruitment process that includes an application form, interview, training, and enhanced CRB checks. People may also have to register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority when it is established.

Calderdale LINk follows the Department of Health’s Code of Conduct for Entering and Viewing services.

Please note that volunteers do not carry out ’inspections’: visits are designed to gather information and report on it and ensure it is published for maximum public access. The aim of the Enter and View team at Calderdale LINk is to enable communities to have access to the best possible services.  This is acheived by working constructively with service providers and commissioners and ensuring we publish the most accurate information. That way, the public can make informed choices with confidence.
